Aivars Sveida is an accomplished Latvian entrepreneur and business leader with more than 20 years of experience in waste management, recycling, and the circular economy. As the founder and CEO of Zaļais Cikls and Green Plastics, he has established an integrated group of companies covering the entire recycling value chain — from waste collection and sorting to the production of recycled plastic pellets using technologies and production lines engineered by his own team. His career combines strategic business development, industrial innovation, and hands-on expertise in building sustainable recycling operations.

Under his leadership, Zaļais Cikls became Latvia’s largest collector of used glass packaging by volume and the country's second-largest collector of plastic packaging. His professional achievements also include advising on the design and development of glass and plastics recycling facilities in Latvia and Lithuania, as well as contributing expert insights on the economics of the circular economy to international business publications. Holding a Master’s degree in Business Management, Aivars brings to the Glonary Awards extensive entrepreneurial experience, industry expertise, and a strong understanding of innovation, operational efficiency, and sustainable business leadership.
