Awards for Small Content Creators: Results Over Follower Counts

November 3, 2026 · 5 min read

If you are a creator with a modest audience looking for awards to enter, start with expert-judged programmes rather than popularity contests. At Glonary® Awards, the Influencers and Infobusiness category is aimed at creators and online educators and is judged on results. Every entry is scored by appointed jury members against published criteria, and there is no public voting. A smaller following is not, by itself, a reason to hold back. What counts is how clearly you can show what your work achieved.

Why follower counts are not the whole story

Many creators assume awards go to whoever has the biggest audience. That holds for competitions decided by public votes, where reach turns directly into votes. An expert-judged programme works differently. Glonary® Awards has no public voting, so there is no vote count to win and no need to ask your audience to campaign for you.

This matters for creators who serve a niche. A newsletter for a specialist profession, a course for a narrow skill or a channel aimed at a specific community may never reach mass numbers. It can still change how its audience works, learns or makes decisions. A results-focused jury can take that kind of impact into account. Reach still plays a part if it is relevant to your goals, but it is one piece of evidence among several.

How the Influencers and Infobusiness category is judged

Each entry is scored independently by at least three appointed jury members. Jurors are appointed by invitation only and may not enter a cycle they judge. The full method is set out on the Judging Process page. In summary, every entry is scored from 0 to 10 on five equally weighted criteria:

  • Originality & Innovation: what is distinctive about your format, method or approach.
  • Clarity & Strategic Logic: whether the reasoning behind your work is easy to follow.
  • Measurable Results & Impact: what changed, and how you know.
  • Category Alignment: how well the entry fits a category for creators and online educators.
  • Strategic Depth & Sustainability: whether the results reflect a durable approach rather than a one-off spike.

The final score is the average of all valid evaluations. Recognition levels follow published score ranges: Gold for 9.00–10.00, Silver for 8.00–8.99 and Bronze for 7.00–7.99. Entries below 7.00 receive no recognition, and their scores are kept confidential. Because the ranges are fixed in advance, you know before you start what score each level requires. Raw audience size is not one of the five criteria.

Who can enter

Participation is open internationally. Creators can take part as individuals if they have an implemented project, meaning work that already exists and has produced results, not an idea or a plan. Companies, startups and teams take part through an authorised representative, which suits creator-led businesses with a small team behind them.

Two eligibility points are especially relevant for creators:

  • The achievement must have taken place within the last five years.
  • If you are aged 35 or under, you may also consider Young Innovators. However, the same project may not be entered in both Young Innovators and another category within the same cycle, so choose the category that fits your work best.

For full details, read the Competition Rules and Eligibility before you begin writing.

Building a results-led entry with a smaller audience

The best approach for a smaller creator is to lead with depth rather than breadth. These are practical ways to address each criterion.

Define the problem and the audience precisely

Say who you serve and why they needed your work. A precise, well-defined audience supports both Category Alignment and Clarity & Strategic Logic. Being specific is a strength here, not something to apologise for.

Show outcomes, not just activity

Posting frequency and view counts describe activity. Judges looking at Measurable Results & Impact will want to know what happened as a result. Depending on your model, that could be course completion, repeat purchases, subscriber retention, client enquiries, or documented changes your students or readers made. Use your own verifiable data, give it context (a starting point, a period, a comparison), and avoid rounding numbers up to make them look impressive.

Explain what is original about your method

Originality & Innovation does not require a new platform. It might be a teaching format, a community structure, a research process or a way of turning content into a product. Describe it plainly and explain why it works for your audience.

Demonstrate that it lasts

Strategic Depth & Sustainability rewards work built to continue. Show how your results have held up over time, how you reinvest what you learn, and how the project could keep going or grow without relying on a single viral moment.

A practical checklist before you submit

  1. Check that your achievement falls within the last five years and that the project is already implemented.
  2. Choose one category per project. If you are 35 or under, decide between Young Innovators and Influencers and Infobusiness.
  3. Map your entry to all five criteria. Each is equally weighted, so a weak section affects your average.
  4. Gather evidence you can stand behind, such as analytics, sales data or documented outcomes, and explain what each figure shows.
  5. Read the Official Rules and Regulations.
  6. Check the Awards Timeline and entry fee on the category page. Fees depend on the programme and stage, and each nomination is a separate entry with its own fee.
  7. Submit before the deadline. All deadlines expire at 23:59 UTC.

Winners are notified by email, announced on the date shown in the category's Awards Timeline and then published on the Winners page. Nobody can promise a particular outcome. What you can control is the quality and honesty of your entry.

FAQ

Do I need a large following to enter the Influencers and Infobusiness category?

Follower count is not one of the judging criteria. Entries are scored on five equally weighted criteria, including Measurable Results & Impact, and the category is described as judged on results. You do need an implemented project, and the achievement must have taken place within the last five years.

Will my audience be asked to vote for me?

No. There is no public voting. Each entry is scored independently by at least three appointed jury members, and the final score is the average of all valid evaluations.

Where can I find deadlines for the next cycle?

Each category page lists its Awards Timeline, including the final submission deadline, the judging period and the winner announcement, as well as the entry fee. For closed categories, dates and entry fees for the next cycle are published before submissions open. For questions, email contact@glonaryawards.com.

Ready to put your results forward?

If your work has made a measurable difference to the people you serve, a small audience should not stop you from entering. Review the Awards Timeline and entry details on the Influencers and Infobusiness category page, then build your entry around the evidence.
